Possible problem with nicknames starting with a digit

Post by leigh » Sat Jan 14, 2012 11:33 pm

[14/01/2012 23:28:43] basic_string so, noticed something odd on another network
[14/01/2012 23:29:50] basic_string not sure if this is some kind of weird NickServ thing (on DarkMyst), but someone's nick was changed at one point
[14/01/2012 23:29:51] basic_string * Jim is now known as 5USAAATQ5
[14/01/2012 23:30:44] basic_string C&W displayed anything they said after as just <USAAATQ5>, and, even after they changed their nick back (and later on parted the channel), the bogus nick stayed in the user list
[14/01/2012 23:31:14] LunarJetman hmm; is it valid to start a nick with a digit?
[14/01/2012 23:31:44] basic_string i don't think so. doesn't let me on any network i've tried, which is why I assume it was a nickserv thing
